Introducing Greenhaven Outdoor Living: Why We Brought Landscapes and Pools Under One Roof

Starting now, we’re one company: Greenhaven Outdoor Living. Same people, same craftsmanship, same phone number — just one name for everything we do, from a new patio to a full backyard with a pool in it. Here’s why we made the change, and what it means for you.
Two Names, One Team All Along
For years, Greenhaven Landscapes and Water’s Edge Pools & Spas operated as sister companies here in Vancouver, WA — sharing an office, a crew of designers and builders, and a lot of the same clients. If you hired us to build a pool, there’s a good chance the same team also handled the patio around it, the plantings along the fence line, or the lighting that makes the whole yard usable after sunset.
The trouble was, having two brand names made that connection hard to see from the outside. We heard it constantly at home and garden shows: people assumed Greenhaven only did plants and hardscape, or that Water’s Edge only did pools, and they’d end up hiring two separate contractors to coordinate a single backyard. That’s more work for the homeowner, more room for miscommunication between contractors, and honestly, it never reflected how we actually work.
Why Greenhaven Outdoor Living, and Why Now
We chose to build the new brand on the Greenhaven name because it’s the one with the longest history and the strongest roots in this community — but the work itself is bigger than landscaping alone. Greenhaven Outdoor Living covers the full scope: landscape design and installation, hardscape and patios, retaining walls, water features, outdoor kitchens, drainage, irrigation, outdoor lighting, and yes, pools and spas.
Our motto sums it up simply: Plan. Plant. Play. Whether your project starts with a conversation about drainage in a soggy backyard corner or a dream of a gunite pool with a sun shelf, it’s the same design process and the same build team from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
It’s worth saying plainly: two names for one team created real friction — in how we marketed ourselves, in how new clients found us, and in how naturally we could suggest “while we’re in your backyard, have you thought about a water feature along that back fence?” or “we could tie the pool decking into a patio out front, too.” One brand lets those conversations happen the way they should — as part of one plan for your whole property, not a handoff between two separate companies.

If you’re mid-project with either company right now, you’ll notice this rollout happening gradually rather than all at once. Signage, uniforms, trucks, and paperwork are being updated gradually over the coming year, and our sales and design teams have been cross-trained so that whoever you’re talking to — whether you called about a pool or a patio — can speak knowledgeably about the full scope of what we offer.
One Team, One Process: Why It Actually Matters
The biggest practical upside of bringing everything under one roof is design coordination. When the same team is planning your pool and your landscape together from day one, decisions that used to require two separate conversations — where the pool equipment pad goes relative to your irrigation lines, how the patio hardscape ties into the pool decking, where retaining walls need to sit around a sloped yard with a water feature — happen once, with everyone at the table.
That matters even if you’re only planning one piece of a project right now. A landscape design done with pool placement in mind from the start saves you from redoing a hardscape later if a pool gets added down the road. Old bookmarks and search results pointing to WatersEdgePoolsandSpas.com will redirect automatically, so you shouldn’t lose access to anything — project photos, service descriptions, and past blog posts are all making the move with us.
Our project galleries are getting the same treatment. Instead of splitting pool photos and landscape photos across two separate portfolios, you’ll be able to browse full backyard transformations in one place — which, frankly, is a better representation of what most of our projects actually look like. A lot of the yards we’re proudest of include a pool, a patio, some structured planting, and a lighting plan that ties it together after dark, and it never made sense to show that work in pieces.
A Note for Southwest Washington and Portland Metro Homeowners
We’re still based right here in Clark County, still serving Vancouver, WA, and still working across the greater Portland metro area. If anything, the merger makes it easier for us to take on the larger, more ambitious backyard transformations this region is known for — the kind of projects where a pool, an outdoor kitchen, northwest plantings, and a retaining wall or two all need to work together on a single Pacific Northwest lot.
Building here also means building around our climate. A pool in Southwest Washington needs a landscape plan that accounts for rain-heavy winters and a shorter swim season than you’d find further south, and a landscape plan around a pool needs drainage and hardscape choices that hold up to that same weather. Having one team responsible for both means those PNW-specific decisions get made together instead of being left for two separate contractors to sort out after the fact.
What Doesn’t Change: Our Craftsmanship
The name on the truck is the only thing that’s really new here. The materials we build with, the vendors we trust, and the standards we hold ourselves to are unchanged. If a project earned a five-star review under the old name, it earns one under Greenhaven Outdoor Living too — the crew behind it hasn’t changed.
